What a blessing to be able to be called sons and daughters of the most high!
We neither deserve nor earn that blessing but have been given that title through the love of our Lord Jesus. John 1:12 says that to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. The princes and princesses of this world never lack in the things they need nor in education and training. So much more is our God than earthly kings. He provides us with what we need and more. His resources are endless, and His reign will never end. With all this being said, God knows what is best for us. Sometimes having everything we want is detrimental and opposite to having everything we need. He knows what we need, which is a relationship with Him. When we think of the apostle Paul, sometimes we forget that he was first Saul. Even though Saul knew about God well, he did not follow God but the mob mentality of the Pharisees. It took the Lord taking Saul’s vision and an encounter with our Lord Jesus for Saul to change his relationship with our Lord and his newly found brothers and sisters in Christ. Later in Paul’s travels, he writes about balancing his physical needs with his spiritual well-being. He states that he can live on almost nothing or with everything. He says he has learned the secret of living in every situation. The secret is his relationship with the Lord and his eternal perspective. God loves us and wants the best for us. If we truly trust in our Father, then we are content no matter what situation we are in. In the book of Philippians, Paul writes:

Paul wrote this to the church of Philippi who blessed him in many ways. I believe this statement from Paul is not just for the ancient church but for God’s people today as well. Our powerful and merciful God knows our needs and He also has plans for us. Sometimes our day-to-day life may not be easy, but Jesus did the real hard part for us (better to say the impossible part for us). He gave us a way to make our relationship right with God. There is no other way, except through Jesus. Take Paul’s word for it, he tried.

Over the years here in Guatemala, we have also learned the secret of living with little or much. Just as Paul is very grateful to the church for supporting him in his mission, so are we. I know your relationship with the Lord has grown just as ours has and Paul’s secret is not so secret anymore. When times are hard or very good, it is easy to take your focus off the kingdom and put it on this world. When you know this world does not support your life, but by the Word of God, then your gaze remains on Jesus. I pray that all of us, we children of God, keep our focus on Jesus. We ask that you remain in prayer for our family. Prayers:Funds for the ministry’s construction project.Monthly donations: We pray that the people of God will join us in the ministry by donating monthly. We are currently $1350 short each monthWith the monthly shortage, Pray as God has led us to adjust, search for a home with less rent, and take our girls out of the Christian School to save the expense. Prayer is needed for these two adjustments as we trust His Plan.Prayer request for our son Levi II: He wants to be accepted into his college of choice.Prayers for Health: Jackie and Levi have been proactive this past summer with health checkups. They both have some health issues and hope to have follow-ups in December. They have no plans to slow down serving Guatemala.Praises:God is helping us look for a home with less rent! God has led us to a virtual education solution for our girls. (See above requests in regards to these praises!)Praise for our oldest, Lydia: She continues to do well in college and works, despite suffering a concussion from a bicycle accident in September when she turned 20!Praise for a team of believers in Texas who recently donated for health bills and travel expenses. God is so good!Praise for fellow faithful servants preparing to bring teams down as we use 2025 for fundraising and service to further the Kingdom! We need your prayers. Spiritual warfare is real and affects the mission field. We trust that God will meet our family’s and ministry’s needs. Thank you for standing with us in prayer. The recent hurricanes strongly affected our family and friends in Florida and the South. We pray for their recovery as hurricane season continues, with more storm systems developing in Central America and potentially impacting the U.S. We believe that God has a plan even amidst these storms. Amen.

Ministry News
The ministry has been significantly affected by the nearly daily rainstorms we experience in Guatemala during this time of year. We are praying for additional funds for our construction efforts. Currently, we are in the largest and most critical phase of construction. Once this phase is completed, weather conditions will no longer be a major concern for the ministry. Please join us in prayer for financial support and favorable weather. The rain prompted rapid weed growth overflowing to the road outside the property that is hard to keep up with with a gas-powered weed trimmer. Finally, this time around Thanksgiving, the rain should begin to slow down!We are excited to anticipate that God will perform great things in raising funds for our mission project. Once completed, this project will provide pre-manufactured homes not only for our ministry but also for ministries throughout Central America. This initiative will create significant opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and demonstrate God’s love. We look forward to witnessing the wonderful things that God will accomplish! |
